Yes. FaxFinder can be deployed a fully-cloud software-as-a-service OR as on-prem software virtually using VMware or Hyper-V. Both options completely remove the need for hardware including appliances, gateways, modems, etc.

All FaxFinder offerings provide a simple UI for users to leverage. Users can send and receive through the web UI and email. There is also an optional printer driver available for Windows users.

Yes, FaxFinder FFX50 Series can connect to your email client out of the box very easily, as well as Active Directory for managing your users. FaxFinder also has an API so you can connect the fax server/service to third-party applications like EMR, EHR, ERP, CRM and other systems.

Yes. Both FaxFinder Cloud and FaxFinder FFX50 Series server can connect with Microsoft 365.

The FaxFinder FFX50 Series server can connect to AD. In addition, FaxFinder Cloud customers have the option to connect to Azure AD.

The FaxFinder FFX50 Series does support a basic for of OCR. FaxFinder also has partners that specialize in document management systems and workflow for any custom or specialized OCR requirements. Contact sales@faxfinder.net to inquiry.

All Multi-Tech Systems-based FaxFinders have been end-of-life/discontinued since 2020 and have not received updates of any kind since 2019. Long-term compatibility with third-party systems like Operating Systems, email, web browsers, security stands, etc cannot be guaranteed.

Old FaxFinders were all based on hardware. When a previous generation FaxFinder went end-of-life, that software won’t get any new updates and hardware is not capable of being upgraded to the next generation. Also worth noting, FaxFinders often run 24x7x365 for years and hardware performance will be impacted at some point.

With FaxFinder FFX50 Series and the proper support and maintenance plan, you are entitled to not just updates to that generation, but also to major updates and future releases. The FaxFinder FFX50 Series runs on a Windows OS, making future updates easier and not having a generation bound to a particular hardware build.

Yes. Network printing services are also available for disconnected sites. This allows fax transmissions to be printed at multiple remote locations without local fax hardware and telephone lines.

FaxFinder supports a wide variety of file formats natively: DOC, DOT, DOCX, DOCM, DOTX, DOTM, XLXS, SML, RTY, HTML, MHTML, MOBI, AZW3, CHM, ODT, OTT, TXT, MD, PDF, EPS, XPS, SVG, PS, PCL, EPUB, TIFF, PNG, BMP, EMF, JPEG, GIF, WEBP.

There is also an optional printer driver for Windows users that will convert any printable image into a faxable format.

Users can attach application files to fax requests.Available file formats include:

  • MS Office Documents – DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, VSD, and XPS
  • Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
  • Image FIles – BMP, GIF, TIF, JPG, PNG
  • Generic Files – TXT, HTML, HTM

The following methods are available for users to route inbound fax transmissions:

  1. DID – Direct Inward Dialing is a service feature that allows inward-directed calls to a PBX to reach a specific PBX extension without human intervention.
  2. DTMF – Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) requires the caller to enter an extension number when sending a fax.
  3. CSID – Call Subscriber ID (CSID) is based on the Fax ID which can be matched to a recipient.
  4. Line Routing – Assign physical fax lines to specific users or groups.
  5. Custom OCR processing – Run cover pages through one or more OCR engines to help recognize routable attributes of the fax transmission.
  6. User Groups – Group of one or more FaxCore users.
  7. Time of day – Time periods when fax transmission routing is activated.
  8. Caller ID – Unique number of calling party.

The Caller ID data that FaxCore captures also allows the product to maintain a “White List” and “Black List” of fax numbers. This allows organizations to Black List the numbers that Spam Faxes come from.

Yes! FaxFinder FFX50 Series server is deployed virtually with customers leveraging VMware and Hyper-V most often.

All FaxFinder solutions can be deployed and configured in a way to support an entity’s HIPAA compliance.

There are several options available depending on customer requirements.

For FFX50 Series server customers, a redundant server can also be deployed as a backup. Also, the FFX50 Series server can be deployed with multiple “fax agents” on the same server, meaning two forms of transport can be used. With this enabled, customers can create rules that best fir their needs (like any document over 5 pages will use the 2nd fax agent vs the first fax agent). Some FFX50 Series server customers also opt to sign up for a FaxFinder Cloud account to serve as a backup as well.
